I have to admit… this is clever. As is typical with these TBS shows, I plan to wait and watch the delayed 16:9 broadcast; however, the more I watch the OP and ED, the more I want to jump in right now.
I just finished watching the 4:3 version, and I’ll tell ya, there’s nothing that I noticed that’d be improved by the 16:9. No people being cut out of the picture or anything like that…
Yeah, I went ahead and watched the 4:3 version of the first episode on the assumption that there wouldn’t be any great loss (this isn’t, say, Clannad, where you’re more likely to miss out on some interesting visuals as a result of the pan and scan). I can at least join in on conversations about the first episode now.
I don’t intend to continue with the 4:3 version, though… gonna wait a few weeks to start over with the 16:9 version and continue from there. Not like it’s the sort of show where I have to worry about massive spoilers courtesy of the folks watching the 4:3 version ahead of time.
…what, it’s only one post? What a tease. Just kidding. But man, that is one hell of an ED though. Like when the Lucky Star OP came out and I looped that one ad-nauseam, I’m doing the same with K-On!’s ED. Good times. Can’t wait to see it in 16:9.

I don’t know what it is about this anime, but the OP and ED really caught my eye and my interest. Where would I be able to view episodes of this show?

Song-wise, I’m of a fan of the OP myself. But visually this blows that out of the water.
What I like best about the OP and ED is how well animated the girls are playing the instruments - its so good I wonder if it is based on real footage.
